President Ilham Aliyev receives delegation led by co-chairman of Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by co-chairman of the Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Necdet Unuvar.
Necdet Unuvar congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his landslide victory in the presidential election. He said he leads a large delegation of monitors who observed the voting in different polling stations. Necdet Unuvar said voter turnout was high in the election and people showed great interest, adding that no irregularities were registered during the voting.
President Ilham Aliyev said that after the voting ended he received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.
The head of state said all measures were taken to ensure that the voting take place in a maximum transparent fashion and the people of Azerbaijan express their will. Noting high turnout, President Ilham Aliyev said this gives us additional strength to take the country forward. The head of state expressed his confidence that the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to develop.
