Shakhriyar Mamedyarov ranks 9th in Tal memorial


Baku. Kenan Hasanov - APA-Sport. Mikhail Tal memorial chess tournament held in Moscow, Russia, is over.
Azerbaijani grandmaster made a draw with former world champion Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) in the last round. The encounters of Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) - Alexei Shirov (Spain), Eugenie Alekseev (Russia) - Peter Leko (Hungary), Qata Kamsky (USA) - Ruslan Ponomaryov (Ukraine), Boris Gelfand (Israel) - Alexander Morozevich (Russia) ended in draws as well. Ivanchuk who scored 6 points in 9 rounds became the winner of the tournament. Mamedyarov took the 9th place among 10 competitors with 3.5 points. He advanced Shirov by 0.5 points. Azerbaijani grandmaster joins a blitz tournament tomorrow.
