Iranian president criticizes IRGC for interfering country’s economic affairs

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has criticized the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for interfering in the country’s economic affairs.

Addressing an event dedicated to the National Army Day, Rouhani said that the increased interest of the armed forces in economic affairs hinders the fulfillment of their basic duties.

Earlier, former IRGC’s former commander Mohsen Rezai said that he considers it appropriate to entrust the management of Iran's economy to the IRGC and the country’s government bodies cannot cope with this duty.
