Ukraine calls for boycott of 2018 World Cup in Russia

Ukraine is in talks with football federations of a number of countries for a boycott of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia or organizing protests in the framework of the upcoming sporting event, said Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, APA reported citing Interfax.

“We are in talks with different federations and fan organizations as to how they can raise different political issues, or boycotting the championship, or clearly expressing their position during their stay in Russia”, Klimkin said.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15.
